Sri Narasimhar Temple
Location:
This great temple of Sri
Narasimhar is located about 55 Kms from Chennai in a place named
"Perambakkam" while traveling from Chennai to Sri Perumbhudhur on
the National Highway.
Normally the one with an angry exterior, Narasimha here is one with a
smiling face and is referred to as Shaantha Moorthy. Another speciality at this temple is the posture of MahaLakshmi,
who is seen facing the devotees. In typical Narasimha temples, Thaayar is seen
pacifying and cooling the angry Lord(Ugraha Moorthy) and hence her face is
turned towards the Lord. Since the Lord is seen here as a ‘Shaantha Swaroopi’,
Thaayar has taken the opportunity to turn her attention to the devotees. Unlike in other Narasimha Kshetrams, Thaayar is seen directly
facing the devotees and blessing them.

God who holds conch wheel, lotus and other weapons,

Smaranath sarva papagnam,
khadruja visha nasanam,

Meaning:
God whose very thought kills all sins,
God who destroys poison of all snakes,

Simhanadenaahath,
digdanthi bhayanasanam,
Sri nrusimham mahaveeram
namami runa mukthaye.
Meaning:
God of a terrible lion like roar,
Who removes fear of elephants, which guard all
directions,
Oh Narasimha who is a great warrior,
I salute you to get rid of my debts.

Prahlada varadam, srresam,
daithyeswara vidharinam,
Sri nrusimham mahaveeram
namami runa mukthaye.
Meaning:
God who was kind to Prahlada,
The lord of Lakshmi and he who ripped apart the king
of demons,

7.
Krooragrahai peedithanam
bhakthanam abhaya pradham,
Sri nrusimham mahaveeram
namami runa mukthaye.
Meaning:
God who gives freedom from fear to devotes,
Who are being troubled by cruel planets,
Oh Narasimha who is a great warrior,

8.
Veda vedantha yagnesam,
brahma rudradhi vandhitham,
Sri nrusimham mahaveeram
namami runa mukthaye.
Meaning:
God who is the lord of Vedas, Vedanta and sacrifices,
Who is worshipped by Brahma, Rudra and others,
Oh Narasimha who is a great warrior,
I salute you to get rid of my debts
9.
Ya idam padathe nithyam,
runa mochana samgnakam,
Anruni jayathe sathyo,
danam seegramavapnuyath.
Meaning:
He who reads daily this prayer for getting rid of
debts,
Would surely become debtless and would soon earn
lot of money.
